Ben

Oh mid-term break..

Long days of lazing around and puzzlement over dinner plans for nearly a whole week..

What would this bring forth? Well, something amusing, of course.

Strolling out of Ginza Mall, happily licking at our ice-cream cones and exchanging the most crappiest views we could ever think of, we couldn't help but notice a wagging tail. Tagging along was a handsome fella, brown-coated and with a long waggy tail. Hmm..we looked around, waiting for the owner to appear yet there was no one.

Unperturbed, we continued our walk, concentrating on the ice-cream. However, Ben was still following us. Everytime we paused and look at him, he would response with a waggy tail and well,a friendly look. Adorably cute.

A few moments later, we peeped behind us. Ben was still happily trotting along with us! Oh no, this time we thought it must be our ice-creams. He's after that. There's no other reason. He didn't look like a stray as he had a collar on him. We didn't want to give him our ice-creams for fear he would follow us back to hall.

In an attempt to lose Ben, we made a dash to hide behind the trunk of a tree while he had walked off in front of us. Unfortunately i was a bit slow and the short little doggie saw me just when i was running off. Silently, behind the tree, we hoped that he didn't notice us. Sad to say, our wish did not come true. He was peeping at us, with a confused look. We gave up at that point, wondering what will happen to him if he really followed us back to hall.

Sensing our next chance a few moments later, again we dashed to the nearest tree. This time around he didn't pay attention to us anymore. He just scrambled on. After awhile, we emerged from our hiding place, dog-free. Phew~!

This is the story of our encounter with Ben. He found his way home after all.

A series of celebrations

Life among friends is pretty cool. Thought i'll keep a record of the birthdays we've celebrated in the past few months. You know. Just in case. For reference purposes.
- Subject to accuracy of Memory. In no particular order.-

1) EV's birthday. It was a nice surprise, with a record number of celebratees. Everyone had gathered near the divider cum balcony area near her room. I came out with a lame excuse and dragged her out of her room. The moment we passed by the "area", everyone started singing "Happy Birthday" and from the gang, emerged the victim's cake.

2) LCJ's birthday. It was a teensy celebration. Plain and simple. An act of sincere desperation. Muffins and candles. What a unique combo. It's the thought that counts.

3) RC's birthday. Everyone hid in her room with water and flour on standby. Dunno how they got the key but they did! And right on time, she, back from an outing, appeared at her door. Before she knew it, she was doused in flour and water, with yells of "Happy Birthday!" and also a special birthday present which is (or more like who is) so-so dressed up as a killer babe! Hoot hoot!

4) HCC's birthday. We snuck to his room. Like trained troops, we flagged and communicated with each other via hand signals and also SMS. Alpha team's position was under his window. Beta team's position was the corridor. He was talking non-stop on the phone. 10 minutes later, he was still talking non-stop. It had to be fire at will in the end. Alpha team sprang up and started hollering the birthday song. HCC was caught off-guard with a horrified cum surprised expression. Simultaneously, Beta team moved in on target with cake. Bull's eye.

5) WP's birthday. Wicked. Tactic re-used. His activities were monitored through out the night for the right moment. CX's snuck into his room and hid under the bed when he went off for a shower. The others hid beneath the window. WP got back and was standing in front of the mirror when everyone jumped up and started singing the birthday song. His expression and reaction was priceless. In fact, he jumped when he saw CX under his bed. We also managed to persuade him to have one leg shaved as a coming-of-age ritual.
6) Tech and cameras were needed for Anh and Em's birthdays. For Anh's birthday, a special presentation of sorts were made complete with pictures and music. There was a small party and Anh got wet and cakey. hehehe..We recorded a music video, starring the one and only Britney Teh, for Em's birthday. She was lured into a room and was given the surprise holler.
7) For ZY's birthday it was very simple. We got him 2 books as present and we celebrated by eating out at Cafe Cartel's in Plaza Singapura. No surprises for this fella.
8) Dom's birthday. It was an elaborate thing to pull. He was told that we were celebrating RS's birthday and had asked him to meet up at the kitchen. Everyone pretended to not know that it was his birthday. The moment the "birthday boy" walked in, everyone started singing the birthday song, not to RS but to Dom! Hehehe surprise, surprise.
Haha the last one, which is the 1st birthday we celebrated since starting uni was mine. I was lured by EV to her room. And the mo i stepped in everyone yelled "Surprise!" hahah. Nice. It was a small one because our circle of friends were still rather limited.
Well well ..more to come..;)
