Midnight Strollers

Headline: 20-somethings on the loose!!

It's my pleasure to introduce to you, the Jaywalkers! They kick, they sing, they climb and they run! Above all, they jay walk. These multitalented individuals are taking over the West Coast by storm. Especially around midnight.

Around midnight on one fine Friday night, when the moon was round and the finals are not yet over, some boisterous youths jaywalked all the way to West Coast Park. Despite their ability to unleash hell, they decided to ignore the couples, hidden inside their cars while attempting acrobatic maneuvers.

Hopping merrily along, a few of them attempted to sing some nurseries rhymes they learned a long time ago. Others attempted the ridiculous. To walk with you left feet and swing your left arm at the same time and vice versa.

They were on a parade of sporting spirits. First event of the night was a session of monkey ball. It was no small feat to run and jump in the sandy fine sand for the "monkey".
"Uhhh..He jumps and he catches the ball!"
"Sprinting, the 'monkey' lurges ahead, trying to catch the ball."
"And he aims, he throws and 'monkey' caught the ball!" Oh no, another victim.
Some minutes later, the game ended with a bang when it hit someone on the face. Lychees lost. Cikus won. Final score.

Exhausted but not too dead, they headed off to the Pee-Rha-Mead. It is a complex construction made out of just ropes and steel. The aim: To touch the ball-ball which is at the very tip of the Pee-Rha-Mead. Clambering up, their skills were so-so. They were undoubtedly as agile as jell-o.
A few touched the ball-ball while others decided to relax a bit on the safety net. The ones who went made a wish.

Wish upon a black rubber ball,
Thy wish if ever will come true by fall.
Hence it is your call,
To treat us all.

Moral of the story: Don't forget to make a wish when you touch the ball. And smile for the camera too!
